This app uses aggregated NASA EONET data to track: - Drought conditions (affecting agriculture and livestock, and overall availability of food and water) - Dust and haze (dust storms, air pollution, non-volcanic aerosols) - Earthquakes (related to all manner of shaking and displacement) - Floods (inundation, water extending beyond river and lake extents) - Landslides (mudslides, avalanche) - Manmade (i.e. oil well fires, human-induced and extreme in extent) - Sea and Lake Ice (also icebergs) - Severe Storms (hurricanes, cyclones, tornadoes, etc.) - Snow (extreme/anomalous snowfall in either timing or extent/depth) - Temperature Extremes (anomalous land temperatures, either heat or cold) - Volcanoes (rock, ash, lava and atmospheric ash and gas plumes) - Water Color (phytoplankton, red tide, algae, sediment, whiting, etc.) - Wildfires (forest and plains fires, urban and industrial fire events, manmade or naturally caused) Data is updated as it comes in from a variety of sources including: - British Columbia Wildfire Service - CALFIRE - Copernicus Emergency Management Service - Earth Observatory - Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System - Global Identifier Number (GLIDE) - InciWeb - International Charter on Space and Major Disasters - LANCE Rapid Response - NASA Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit - Pacific Disaster Center - ReliefWeb - Smithsonian Institution Global Volcanism Program - Unisys Weather - USGS Emergency Operations Collection Management Tool - USGS Hazards Data Distribution System - Western Australia Department of Fire and Emergency Services Also include is a Twitter stream for each natural event.
